Greetings from The Peoples Republic of South Yorkshire!
Hi There Folks!
I've been a shooter since getting a BSA Meteor for my 7th Christmas and I've had a fascination with the capability to make things which machine tools bestow upon you since getting in some lathe time in metalwork at school, I've always taken things apart and when I was about 16 I actually began to put things back together again, sometimes successfully ;-)
Regards,
Nick

Hello and welcome
Your introduction sounds a lot like me what with the Meteor and taking things apart!......at the age of 8 my dad "gave" me a 1300 crossflow out of his MK1 Escort that he had degreased and painted for me, I used to take it apart and put it back together and all these years later I could still do one in my sleep!.
Anyway, welcome to the madhouse....there's a wealth of knowledge here and also a fair amout of drivel so enjoy

Greetings
It was my Mother who said (Not to me) any fool can take something apart, it takes a bit more to put it back together. I was credited as the source and it was to the chap who was trying to put her new electric oven back together.
Not sure I did originally say it however I do like the concept. :)

Hello and welcome
Taking things apart, seeing how they work and putting them back together again and hoping they still work - wasn't that how all engineers started?

Hi Nick .... welcome to FBUK!
I've got loads of 'spares' in the bits-box from successful projects that I've tackled over the years. If it still works without it, you don't need it!
