The Scotsgun Ruling:

"As I've yet to have a 'positive' experience there, I'll refrain from commenting further."

Down the local Czech gun dealer

#1 Post by froggy »

Great Bank holidays Week-end... After a scorching sunday sadly the weather is not that great to go to the lac. I have a bit of post pay-day money in my pocket, do need some ammo, so I decided to paid a visit to my "local" gun dealer.

The guy is really nice. We always have couple of non-alcoholic beers . The fat liar pretends that my atrocious Czech is improving & that he now understands every single word I say. We have a great chat about guns & shooting, how the world is going mad but that at least his secretary still has a very very decent perky pair. He also always have couple of interesting pieces to show me.

I like hand-guns very much, so we start there. Maybe a nice "Classic & Classy" little German number ?

More keenly priced, this ex-Israeli army one will merely cost the price of a 22lr GSG 1911 upgrade kit ...
It has been fully re-furbished & comes with a 2 years guaranty. No need to play or "improve" it. Tempting ...

He always has a decnt rifles selection. Some modern & some classics . Enny meeny miney mo...

Surprise... surprise ...This M93 Black Arrow does stand-out of the lot. A bit pricey, a tad cumbersome & far too serious for my recreative poor shooting.

If the truth to be know, I am now getting a bit over excited. That Vz59 is both compact, cheaper & I am sure much more fun to play around .

Image

Getting a bit carried away now, I guess the GSh 23 must be truly monster fun but at 3,000 rounds/minutes. Even if he throws in a good deal on couple of boxes of 23x115, this is getting really silly.

So, let go back to something more manageable. Something small, sexy, full of cute Eastern-European charm, his secretary & Vz61 both spring to mind.

or, maybe something with a bit longer sight radius

Still undecided, I go back to look at the rifles' stock.

Arghhh... After 5 mns I clock something I like the look of it ... very very much like.

Guns are useless without ammo - got any ?

Still pondering how to talk plod into granting me extra slots on my FAC, the time is ticking & I have some shooting to do, so and since we are there in the ammo section : " I'll have 2 boxes of your finest 9*18 sir". But I'll be back , promise !

Before you ask, 95% of the stock is strictly restricted to governmental sales. So, unless, you have your own country with a legit, very much UN & internationally recognized army or police force, that you filled-up sh*t load of paper-work & obtained mountains of authorisations, it is very much "looky-looky" only.

I would still be very happy with the 5 % left ... O:-)

Sickening! I would love to have a wander around in there, even if I weren't able to take anything away.
