12" M&P 15-22
Chopped barrel 15-22 finally arrived yesterday, and I loves it!
- Standard model 15-22
- Barrel chopped to 12”
- CMC 3.5lb single stage trigger (curved blade)
- FAB Defense GL-shock stock
- FAB Defense PTK foregrip
- FAB Defense VTS thumb grips
- FAB Defense Rail covers /FDE ladders (Can’t decide which I prefer)
- FAB Defense AGR-43 pistol grip
- MST Ambi charging handle
- Wildcat Whisper sound moderator*
- Magpul copy MBUS
- FDE Magpuls (more to cushion fall on hard surfaces than getting the mags out of pouches)
- Holosun 503C red dot sight on 0.5” QD riser
- Ares Huskey Slider Sling (Not on pictures)
- Unmodified Magpul BAD lever which seems to work fine??
Stuff to add;
- 15-22 specific anti-walk pins (having a nightmare trying to find some in the UK)
- Ambi-mag release (Probably a Troy Industries)
- Ambi-safety (Possibly, will see how the standard one works for competitions)
- Possibly a Vortex 3x magnifier for longer range stuff….
Wanted to try the FAB Defense furniture this time around as a couple of my other guns have mainly Magpul stuff on. The FAB grip is definitely better than the Magpul MIAD I have on my competition shotgun but I’d decked that out in Foliage Green which the FAB grip doesn’t come in unfortunately otherwise I would be changing it.
*There was an issue with the Wildcat Whisper sound mod and fitting it under the handguard as it has a rib, similar to those at the muzzle end which was just too wide to fit. There isn't a lot of material in the handguard so boring that out wasn't really an option, so the RFD I picked it (and the rifle) up from turned it down on a lathe (while I waited and for free!!). Just so others are aware, the Whisper DOES NOT FIT without modification.
Can't wait to get it to the club and put a brick of ammo (or two) through it!
EDIT: Was supposed to post this on the "Show Us Your Rimfires" thread but this has happened somehow!? Mods please feel free to move it if its not too much hassle

The 12" barrel makes them very pointable and great fun to shoot

Lovely, can I ask where you picked up the MST Ambi charging handle?

South Africa! The carbon footprint of this rifle is shocking The postage was going to cost as much as the handle itself but I managed to negotiate it down to 1/4 what they were originally after, still pricey for what it is but I hate the ambi-handles like the pinker tactical you have to nip the extra lever together and I couldn't find anywhere that did the NSZ one.daman wrote:Lovely, can I ask where you picked up the MST Ambi charging handle?

Nice looking rifle.
Big fan of Fab Defense as it is seems to be better value against Magpul and better ergonomics especially the AFG and hand grips. Using the FAB Defense flip ups on my SGC 9mm for gallery rifle. I like the stocks with the cheek riser system. Tend to use Zahal based in Israel as they always seem to carry everything in stock and prices are good.
What are your thoughts on the Holosun red dot?

Re: 12" M&P 15-22
Mine has a slight defect in the reticle at the 3 o'clock position on the outer 65MOA ring. Other than that its be best red dot, for the money, I've ever owned! I love being able to just leave it on permanently and not have to worry about the battery, if you look on the pictures I've added a sticker above the Holosun logo saying "06 18", that's when I should start thinking about replacing the battery Aimpoint battery life, Eotech reticle and Burris TRS25 pricing (providing you're willing to buy it direct from China), what's not to love!
I've tried it on my BR99 (12 bore), .223 MARS, Walther MP5 and nothing has killed it so far so I think this will be its final resting place as I've taken my MP5 back to iron sights as it looks better 'clean'.
I have to agree about the FAB Defense furniture, I definitely prefer it to Magpul, along some of the finishing is not as sharp (just little bits of extra plastic left around any screw holes which needs to be removed etc. The grip on this is brilliant, just wish it came in foliage green so I could put one on my BR99 as well!
