Utter crap, that is no more a gun dog than I am. You can tell a good dog, it is muddy up to its belly, wet through and has scratches on the underside of its ears. Oh and it is usually madly wagging its tail and waiting for the next command.

Looks more like a hovercraft than a dog!
Can you imagine the hassle taking that in the field when there is a foot of snow on the ground? One shot and you would be clearing more than snow off its skirt.

Re: A new definition of a gun dog
This is a proper gun dog, AKA 'Rentboy' because one of the larger local shoots borrows him throughout the season, however if I am also invited he works with someone else and I just get to trudge through wet cover strips waving a stick. On a positive note I am allowed to run him on one of the smaller syndicate shoots :)
The grim stare was because he had a collar on, we gave up on such things about a year ago.

Gundog, this one will just lie on a rifle whereas the Lurcher would probably try and steal it...

It looks like Dougal from the Magic Roundabout. What it doesn't look like is a gun dog.
