Re: Powder
Hi Jay,
I don't have any powder for sale, however, I would reccomend using Ramshot Big Game instead of Ramshot Tac in this calibre. I found this to be the case with my 8mm Mauser. Tac is a bit too fast burning, if I didn't use enough powder (around 42.5gr if I recall for a 200gr bullet) then the case would not fully obturate which would make the cases go very sooty and would blow some cool gas back through the action. When I upped the charge to 43gr I found that cases needed I bigger lift on the bolt handle to extract the case. They would then need full length sizing and I couldn't get away with neck sizing.
Ramshot Big Game was much better. The stated load for a 200gr bullet is 45gr to 50gr. I get good case obturation, grouping and velocity with starting load up to 48gr, anything higher required a lot of lift on the bolt and full length sizing so I stuck with 48gr. I cannot comment on the other powders you've listed as I've not used them in this calibre.
PS these loads kick!!
