Re: Some impressive shooting......
People are so inadequate that they need to follow the herd to feel that they belong. There is a great fear in people about being themselves, why on earth people waste time worrying about what others think of them is totally beyond me.

Nah, because it's cold sometimes on those early morning stages.breacher wrote:Chuck wrote:Note "discouraged", not banned or prohibited..just not "in"... Maybe the Associations will compile a list of acceptable kit..a bit like a school uniform?
Seems you are only cool if you turn up in a short sleeved top ( emblazoned with advertising ) worn over a long sleeved undergarment when it comes to UKPSA etc
Its almost like a fashion trend and they all follow it like slaves.
It's a very American thing to do really, popular in baseball etc, the fact that some sponsored shooters wear their match shirt with a long sleeved base layer underneath is just the same as they would wear a normal t-shirt over the top.
As for the cowboy shooting, it's a valid discipline and people should be able to practice without worrying that they offend the pearl clutching hand wringing contingent of the shooting community.

Even expressions of 'true individuality' run in cycles of fashion trends.

Re: Some impressive shooting......
my club doesnt mind me dressing up when shooting although the committee did ask me not to wear the 6 inch stiletto heels for health and safety reasons.

During cowboy action shooting dressing up as a cowboy will not offend anyone, it is encouraged. As for the cowboy shooting, it's a valid discipline and people should be able to practice without worrying that they offend the pearl clutching hand wringing contingent of the shooting community.
