Haha, it was 50 notes and will (might as it is a flintlock) go bang.Dark Skies wrote:Durs EggHrun wrote:Saddler, I am sorry but I dont understand this.. could you translate into numpty speak.saddler wrote:No Durs Egg underhammer, but not bad.

I will take the not bad as a compliment.
Had a play with the flint today, it was in a mess, I suspect as the edge was hitting the pan. It ground well on a diamond knife sharpener and now gives a pile of sparks near the pan.
Once the gunshop get the balls and patches in it will be time to give it a go

Why don't you cast your own balls and cut your own patches, that's what most muzzle loading shooters do. Its easy to do and much cheaper than buying from a shop.

Mostly because I haven't got that far and funds are tight for new equipment. Now I have a .44 revolver, a .69 Musket and the flintlock, casting starts to make sense.Chapuis wrote:"Once the gunshop get the balls and patches in it will be time to give it a go"

All in good time, I have to find the money for the tri corner hat first

Re: My new baby was delivered today
What funds, all the kit that you need is a bullet mould. The lead can be melted on a stove or fire in an old bean tin and the patches cut from old sheets and pillow cases.
Re: My new baby was delivered today
Just make sure the old sheets and pillow cases are cotton with no synthetics in them.

According to the stamps on the barrel under the wood, it is Swiss?christel wrote:Hrun, you have to be more specific than that, what is it?
British/French?
It also goes bang, mostly
