There was an interesting court case concerning Ruger 10/22's and internal sound moderators several years ago.

It was me who approached Joe with the idea of counter boring a bull barrelled 10/22 and inserting the baffles and adding an end cap.
He got mine built. I used it for some time with no problem.
Then he got a batch built. It was then that police got involved.
By that time I had traded mine in for the LEI integrally suppressed 10/22 so I was no longer in possession and avoided any further involvement.
