Anchutz HB 1710
I have the opportunity to acquire an Anchutz HB 1710 it has had not a lot of rounds through it and is like new. Any one have one of these or have any experience shooting one. My only concern is the 23" heavy Varmint barrel. I will be using it mainly at 25 yards indoors either standing or from the bench. Mainly from the bench and may be occasionally prone. I was looking at a new CZ 455 20" Varmint but this is a really nice rifle I know the previous owner who bought it new. I'm just a bit concerned the 23" barrel might make it a bit unwieldy. What do you reckon.
Re: Anchutz HB 1710
If it's primarily bench or prone, a long barrel is no handicap. It's a big old lump on that one but a beautiful rifle.
I would most certainly pick one over a 455 if the price is good, but I'm a confirmed Anschutz fanboy. The Match 54 action is proven at the highest level and the trigger is great out of the box.
