Re: 10/22 Scope Swapping
I was shooting a mini-rifle comp last year (first match in the video below) where I knew there were going to be some long range (for mini-rifle!) targets so used a scope and a 45 degree red-dot. It worked OK but you definitely need to train a lot to use it well. Its a bugger to zero too!Gh0st wrote:has anybody used a Mini red dot on the side of the scope mount, almost tactical style?
N.B. All the jamming was caused by clamping two mags together and the clamp being too tight stopping rounds feeding

EDIT No idea why that link isn't embedded

I seem to have been swapping between 'scopes quite a lot recently on some rimfires and do see some POI change however it is not excessive, typically around 1/2" at 50 yards with cheap rings. At the other end of the scale I can remove the S&B on my AI and replace it with absolutely no loss of zero when using the original one piece AI mounts.
The important things is to always replace the rings back on the rail in the same place and a small witness mark aids this.

The furthest I've shot in a recognised comp is 100m which was the tunnel stage in the video above. In general its sub 25m in the comps I do, more likely 0-15m.
