I shook hands with him in 1990 when I was working at Perkins Engines in Shrewsbury, we built the CV-12 engines and powerpacks for Challenger and the CV-8 Warrior engines and he visited the place during the build up to the Gulf War.I can remember we were working flat-out building spare engines as if they were going out of fashion, the amount of overtime we got was unreal!!!.

I also enjoyed Bravo Two Zero. Well done to Andy for making a go of things and for being successful with his books. One needs to be extremely dedicated to get into the SAS.

I'm not the greatest fan of his novels though.

Agreed, BTZ was worth reading, I struggled with his novels and hgave up halfway through one, never to return.
