Thank you Dellboy, I did forget Bradley arms, as I also forgot to mention Chippa, Umarex (manufactuers of the Colt M16 clone (not an Armalite Rifle 15), and also the H&K 416 Clone both in .22lr).Dellboy wrote:Ginger wrote:I believe NWCP does his own range of Polymer rifles based on the Armalite Rifle 15 design

So there are a couple of options in the price range you are thinking off the S&W or the NWCP ones (if they are out there yet). I have seen the S&W ones and they work well, the only thing I know about the NWCP ones is the information above. Only benefit I can see of the S&W over the NWCP is that the S&W is tried and tested but for the NWCP one it can take a .223 upper it says.
Metal (Spikes / Bremmer / CMMG / Lantac / Valkeryie) nice, premium, heavy can take other uppers
Polymer (S&W / NWCP), light, cop is good, and the NWCP takes Milspec parts, I don't think S&W allows buffer tube changes etc for stocks.
I have two of the above (not saying which), and I am happy with it, and I don't think I have mentioned any supplier here that doesn't get a thumbs up from someone on here (well nearly everyone).

P.s. Its 10:47:45 26/10/17 how long until the thread is locked? :)
Didnt mention Bradley arms and you nearly got away with it
I have two metal Armalite Rifle 15 clones in .22Lr rimfire calibre and they have been as good as gold, and I hate to think of the round count through them. I will not mention the brand specificity but it wasn't a CMMG, just so you are aware other brands run fine as well.
Oh one thing on the S&W is that is has a true hold bolt open on last round without anykind of mods which most other Armalite Rifle clones seem to require, (Catch 22, Redimag etc), I know mine does.

P.s Okay is now 10:15:00 27/10/2017, nearly 24hours now without being locked? Is the site owner / admin on holiday?

I notice your home range is Diggle, I am sure that if you ask around people will own most of what has been mentioned so you might be able to have a touch and feel etc.Lancs_Oakley wrote:Thanks for all the info. Looks like a 15-22 is going to be the way forward for now. Thanks all.

I've shot at Diggle a couple of times and while the people there all seemed friendly enough i'm not sure they'd have appreciated people doing that!Ginger wrote:I notice your home range is Diggle, I am sure that if you ask around people will own most of what has been mentioned so you might be able to have a touch and feel etc .Lancs_Oakley wrote:Thanks for all the info. Okay, to get this back on track, "I notice your home range is Diggle, I am sure that if you ask around people will own most of what has been mentioned so you might be able to have a touch and feel" of different brands of Armalite Rifle 15 Clones so you can make your own mind up.
As stated previously a lower that you can swap uppers on might be best for you depending on your budget.
