Na, clean it in the ultrasonic cleaner in the man cave (shed)..

Only used water once when I first bought it.. followed al the advise online and spent the next 2 weeks trying to stop it rusting.. water is the devils juice!

I use the dishwasher for anything and everything that I can fit in, however you do need to make sure everything is well oiled afterwards to prevent rusting. I use a 'proper' oil as opposed to WD40 having learnt the hard way that it does not always do what is says on the tin :(

I use a lot of water displacing liquid in my black powder cleaning, however it is only used for displacing water, once that is done, the gun is oiled for storage as usual.

I am using auto transmission oil in the bath and eds red everywhere else currently.

Water is the key to neutralising the hygroscopic fouling in black powder, oil based only cleaners don't do that as well if at all.

Using a water miscible oil means that when the water evaporates a film of oil is left also using hot water leads to flash fouling, water displacing liquids are very effective at getting moisture out of a gun.

I clean my black powder guns as I would my smokeless guns only using aquoil, water displacing and finally oil patches.

I cannot abide wet cleaning of anything firearms related, baths, flushing and the like are an anathema to me and totally unnecessary.

i use brush , then warm soapy water swab it out till clean, then oil with bronox wipe off any excess oil ,
