Applying for a variation with existing unfilled slots

Re: Applying for a variation with existing unfilled slots
I put in a variation asking for 3 more firearms and 4 moderators when I was 6 months into my ticket and had only bought 2 of the 5 i had asked for on initial grant. At the end of the day as long as you can justify it then I doubt there will be a problem.
In my case my shooting interests had evolved and I actually had an idea of what types of shooting i wanted to do rather than what my club had suggested I go for.

Ok so apparently I can't count as I have two 5 gun cabinets, not two 4 gun cabinets .Hoppum wrote:I could do, depends how strict they are on having more rifles in a cabinet than that cabinet is advertised as holding. I've two 4 gun cabinets currently, with my shotguns as well that'd leave me with potentially 9 guns total. They are both deep cabinets though so it would easily fit physically. If that's not something that they'd allow, I'd rather spend my money filling my empty slots before buying another cabinet.meles meles wrote:You'll never get to that ideal world if you don't push for it, ooman. Ask for more. Many more...
So the variation went in today as follows:
Remove:
1x .22 Moderator
Add:
1x 7.62x39 Rifle
1x 7.62x39 Moderator
1x 7.92x57 Rifle
Lets see what happens!

Re: Applying for a variation with existing unfilled slots
I don't think I've ever applied for a variation and NOT had several slots yet to be filled :)

Well it's Thames Valley Police so I'll let you all know in three months or so!
Re: Applying for a variation with existing unfilled slots
Hi I agree you could ,one for one either your moderator or similar calibre rifle unused , think moderator s are coming off ticket in future in which case you would not lose a potential slot for a new firearm
By the way I recently had variation for 7.62/308 by return of post others I know wait up to 3 months .
I am in Dyfed /Powys

What makes you think moderators are coming off ticket soon?

Re: Applying for a variation with existing unfilled slots
It was one of a few ideas being seriously mulled over by TPTB as well as 10 year renewals, but the EU gun review kicked all of that into touch

Text from TVP today saying it's been passed to my local FEO who'll contact me within 4 weeks to progress my enquiry.
