It is in DK waiting for me to pick up if I want it and for some reason I forgot it had to be a 24" barrel if it is a pump.

I guess it will have to stay in DK which is a pity as it is a very good price.

Just out of curiosity, how much, David? I would have said the same as Jon, 2 grand easily for a genuine trench gun.

SimG, it is GBP690 right now and I would expect to get around GBP120 off that although Christel is not as hopeful.

EDIT - That kind of screws things up if I get it home as everyone will say nahnah na nah we know what you paid for it if I tried to sell it.

I reckon it would make a rather good Zombie gun tho'

The value of such a thing?

Well, in practical rather than financial terms, they can be very valuable indeed. A small batch of Neosteds were available in Iraq a while ago and proved ideal for close quarter combat in the rat runs and alleys typical of arab towns. The NS has two magazine tubes, hence it is possible to load one with solid slug and the second with large ball - ideal for taking a door off its hinges and then filling the room beyond with shot during a contested entry. They are also good at checkpoints to stop a vehicle. It's a short weapon in terms of length too, so again very useful in confined spaces - great for stop and check on ships.

We're sure that the Winchester would have been just as useful for clearing trenches, though perhaps a trifle long with the bayonet attached...

Depends on a few factors: S1 or S2? How bad you want it - what condition it is in - what spec. sights it has, etc.

£400 is quite a lot more than I paid for mine about 4-5 years back.

Strange coincidence - my DSPS has this very day passed into the hands of a mate at Bisley - as we'd agreed a trade for it at the Phoenix & Dromia kindly took it down with him to do the paperwork, etc.
(Traded for a genuine early Gerber Mark II with VietNam era serial number)
Still got one 37 - a '59 dated Featherlight

A DSPS would, in my opinion, be a £250 gun as S2, & maybe £200 as a S1

The 20-ga I missed was in the low 200's, but they are not that common in that gauge AND it was not the DSPS version; a much earlier mod 37 sporter; so the price was a steal for what it was

Happy to give more advice or info as I have quite a few decent reference books on the Ithaca & other 12-ga shotguns of that type.

Just bringing up an old thread with a relevant question.

If a 20" trench/riot shotgun was extended by 4" to be over 24" total barrel length, the mag restricted to 2 shots (all work done by section 5 dealer) and then re proofed (with certificate) by the proof house back in 1993, is it still legal ?
