You always have the option of making one leg longer than the other on sloping ground. ;)

If you are shooting precision of a table at 50 yards a bipod is not what you want you need a front rest some thing like the caldwell. I have just bought one for the very same reason and if you are shooting precision you need a rear bag.

I use a Harris which allows for an adjustable angle but can be locked solid so best of both worlds in my opinion.

I used to shoot with a 3"-6" Harris fixed, it was great being so low which suits my shoting style, however it lacked the cant which could cause problems so I would always suggest go for one with the ability to cant it slightly and ideally add a Podlock to add some tension.
