Benelli SooperNova, largest loading port so quicker to load than any other pump on the market. Pretty much the IPSC manual choice the world over.

Supernova hands down. But, practice those reloads. That’s where the time is lost.

Why is a pump action chosen over the semi auto?

Different divisions in UKPSA / IPSC matches which may mean more competitive fields. Arguably cheaper to get top level kit. Plus everyone loves a pump action :)

From my point of view I settled on Standard Manual because there was less worry regarding ammo choice affecting reliability of operation. YES there are those who have no problems whatsoever, their semi auto will feed everything including 90 year old paper hull jobbies that were recently found at the bottom of a lake in a waxed burlap bag. However I see the occasional problems from the majority when shooting stages (with some suffering much more frequent problems) so I didnt want that hassle.

I enjoy using a pump gun, it's what I was originally taught with and I saw no need to move away from that. At club level I do alright, certainly hold my own. I'd probably be even better if I actually practiced between matches! lol lol

I have owned a semi auto but never a pump action, often thought of it but never done anything about it. Why is it there is not enough of me, time and money to do all the things I want?

Life does get in the way :D
