Mosin M44
I'm after an M44. I've seen a few around but the barrels always seem to be in a bad way. I saw a '51 dated Polish made rifle the other day that still had storage grease on it but the barrel was corroded pretty badly.
If anyone knows of a decent one with a good, bright bore, I would be very interested!

Re: Mosin M44
I bought one two years ago, unfired and as new,1951 Polish I’m informed.
Paid £350 from Daniel at Valmont. Highwood Classic Arms has them in now and again and I have seen them on C&G firearms.
It may be worth leaving some contact details in case they know or get one in?

Good shout. I popped up to see Chris last week and I'll touch base with Highwood again.
They've shot up in price with the average I've seen being £550 - 600. I spoke to someone a few weeks ago who said they paid £125 for a mint condition example back in 2009. This made me sad.

I just sold mine (excellent condition) for £350, one well known dealer here gave me a steer on the price. so be careful not to over pay!James048 wrote:Good shout. I popped up to see Chris last week and I'll touch base with Highwood again.

Thanks for the advice. I haven't seen one that low yet... The cheapest I've seen in the last few months of looking was £480 (and I've been looking a lot).
Re: Mosin M44
I paid 175 quid 2 years ago @ Fultons for a great condition Polish M44.

I bought a minter in 2013 for £125 from ryton arms, the place where valmont and c&g sourced theirs from, without paying their enormous mark up! Don't think they are trading any more though.James048 wrote:Good shout. I popped up to see Chris last week and I'll touch base with Highwood again.
