Deer Stalking… reliable word of mouth recommendation from someone you know has undertaken such stalking being offered by a specific syndicate is best. Like other walks of life, stalking has its scammers. E.G., make sure there is deer, of the species sought, on the land being made available; that appropriate insurance is in place; that there is recourse for recompense if it all goes wrong. In addition, obtain and understand terms and conditions; consider the implications of allowing a syndicate leader to be a FAC mentor; make sure ‘coaches’ are suitably qualified; consider the quality of deer management, the construction & execution of a shooting plan and safety; determine if the land is over-shot.

If in doubt, contact BASC or similar.

Anyone considered to be a scammer will be banned without warning.

Either way, you spend a lot of time poking around in some of the smelliest poo going. Welcome to my world lol

It's often argued that habitat management on pheasant shoots is beneficial to other species and, at one level , this is certainly true. The problem comes from releasing huge numbers of what is, at the end of the day, a non-native, omniverous species into the wild.

I've little problem with most quarry shooting in the UK but I'm afraid Pheasant and (Red) Grouse is a different matter.
The smell...one Labrador finds it, rolls in it and then the next notices what is going on, we have three Labradors... 5mith

Just wondering about the Pheasant shoots, do you know how many that are being released, I have no feeling for the numbers being released now and in the past.
Pretty sure the local shoots have grown in bird numbers.

Killing or injuring persons is not a sole prerequisite for classification as a terrorist organisation.

I urge everyone who needs to shoot birds to apply for an emergency licence straight away.
If no one applies then Packham will further have his bow strengthened as it will be seen as the general licence was not needed anyway.

Heard from a gamekeeper shooting buddy this morning, that the ban has been rescinded due to a technicality.

You know the DOD in the US changed the nuclear launch codes to more than 140 characters after Trump got in.
Evidence?

I found this with a quick Google search:

"In the United States, a single person is authorized to make the decision to use a nuclear weapon—the president. They are not required to consult with any advisors before issuing a launch order".

https://www.ucsusa.org/nuclear-weapons/ ... -authority

However, this article states "Retired US general says nuclear launch order can be refused".

https://www.militarytimes.com/news/pent ... e-refused/

Although, according to this article Clinton lost the launch codes for months (maybe his mind was on Monica?).

Killing or injuring persons is not a sole prerequisite for classification as a terrorist organisation.

Animal rights extremists were responsible for the targeting politicians with letter bombs in the early 80s. They also entered into a campaign of poisoning food in supermarkets and shops and no doubt there will be those old enough to remember the contaminating of Mars Bars with rat poison.

Likewise, there were a raft of amendments to the Public Order Act and the Harassment Act to protect those employed in industries involving animals, from violence and criminal damage.
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

I seem to recall a firebombing of shops campaign by animal rights activists in the late 1970's. They targeted shops that sold fur coats. Also you shouldn't forget the campaign against the family concerned with Huntingdon Life Sciences.
All together not a nice bunch of people.

I guess there will always be some extremist nutters on both sides of every fence................more and more we appear to be behaving like the mice in this experiment:
