Winchester 1890 .22

#1 Post by redcat »

Acquired this some years ago when I had a notion to "collect" takedown rimfire rifles. Never really came off and its sat in the back of the safe, unloved. It is a refinish, obviously. Asking £220 which is less than I paid. Prefer F2F (100 free .22LR) and willing to travel for the cost of diesel, otherwise RFD and shipping charges charges apply. Replies by PM please for more photos and details.

PM sent...
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

They just made those illegal here in New Zealand. They were supposedly going after military style semi-autos in the wake of the Christchurch mosque shooting, but the law was so badly written that it included these rifles. That's what happens when you rush a law through without proper consultation.

Unfortunately Dave, when full bore semi autos were banned here in the late 80s, full bore pumps got caught up with it as well. Like NZ, slide action rifles in CF were banned purely because of spite.

However, we still have rimfire and this one is going to be mine!
