Where can I fire a Bren gun?

Dave_303 is correct.
By all accounts some of the gun clubs located on the Channel Islands are very accommodating to FAC holders from the mainland UK.
I know of people that have visited for the weekend just to shoot pistols and self-loading rifles.
As long as you're deemed safe then you can rock-and-roll!

A little while back there was a series on History channel called 'Mud men' and Johnny Vaughan fired a Vickers at Bisley.Point im making is he's a civillian and was shooting a full auto in the UK so there must be loopholes somewhere.
Re: Where can I fire a Bren gun?
Bisley does have S5 days and there are a few DVD's showing them however they are very strictly controlled and I am not sure they are open to the general public in any way shape of form, maybe Heather of John could tell us more about this?

I think this was filmed during this years Service Rifle Meeting (we saw the film crew and a mate identified Johnny Vaughn), if it was then the Section 5 stuff was supplied by Fultons.

Yep, it was Collin from Fulltons who was the armourer for them. Apparently Johnny Vaughn wasn't acting that childishly until the cameras rolled.Strangely Brown wrote:Steve wrote:A little while back there was a series on History channel called 'Mud men' and Johnny Vaughan fired a Vickers at Bisley.Point im making is he's a civillian and was shooting a full auto in the UK so there must be loopholes somewhere.

Re: Where can I fire a Bren gun?
Vaughan should not have been anywhere near a firearm, never mind a S5 machine gun! He's a convicted drug dealer having been sentenced to four years imprisonment for possession on Class A drugs (cocaine) with intent to supply, in the late 80's. Not a paultry amount either......
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Here's a 'You Tube' of Jeremy Clarkson firing a GPMG, he also fires a Carl Gustav, but it appears to be Photoshopped.
I also suspect he may have been firing Blanks in the GPMG, anybody know if it had a blank firing attachment?

Slowed down, the GPMG looks like it has a normal barrel, but the ammunition looks like blanks. I suspect it's a "hollywood" GPMG. Plus the "bullet" holes in the car are a tad larger than 7.62mm!
I don't know about the UK GPMG's but the Australian ones didn't have BFA's, we had BFB's (blank firing barrel) for ours.
The less said about the Charlie G the better.
