I fitted a DRO to my small mill - Just couldn't do without it now. I bought it several years ago direct from China (Aliexpress) and it has been trouble free since. I had to cut one of the scales by about 4" which was a bit scary as current thinking was that the tempered glass scales would shatter if cut. The whole set up cost me £204 compared to the UK asking price of £5-600 at the time.
I see Banggood are selling a set for around £200 at the moment.

or Warco do a few.

Re: Digital read Out
True - but you can still work without one - mine went 'tits-up' when I was just about to start a barrel. Yep - more of a faff but I still got it done (you don't use it for the actual chambering) and, at the end of the day, it's all 'fit n finish' with your action and headspace gauges. Go for it!Alpha1 wrote:Been playing but what is blatantly obvious I am not going to have any success machining unless I fit DRO,s to my machines. (Digital read outs)
