Wanted : Big lube style 44 caliber cast bullets to try
Hi there, I was wondering If anyone has any circa .430 diameter "big lube" bullets for use in a 44-40 lever gun that I could pay for and try?
I am planning to get a mould from an Accurate design 430 - 205M as pictured, but wanted to see if I could try similar first.
thanks in advance

I thought 44-40 boolits were sized considerably smaller than that?
Purveyor of fine cast boolits.

Hi there, I think they range from .427 onwards.

I shoot these in my 1860 Henry sized to 0.430".
Works well enough, I can rattle my 6" gong at 100yrds all day with the load so long as I don't pull the shot by trying to see the hit over the smoke, the only demerit of using black powder.

Re: Wanted : Big lube style 44 caliber cast bullets to try
If I had any I would have offered them to you but I don't and with my current circumstances I won't be at the pot for at least another couple of months, I am shooting round ball in my flintlocks and cannon as that is all the cast I currently have on hand.
I suspect that the extra length of these bullets needed to keep the weight with large lube groove is what makes them that little bit more consistent accuracy wise than the smokeless variants.
