I have shot with the SincInt F class bipod and it is very good, the added stability makes a noticeable difference to accuracy and it takes seconds to fit and remove from the rifle. They also do a tactical type bipod that has legs that extend a lot wider than the more conventional Harris type pods.

My view is the wider footprint and foot skis are where such designs come into their own and despite running a Farley Co-Axial I still think with some imagination a bipod could be the way to go even for F Open class shooting.

I need to build the bipod to prove my theory

At least I can spot it amongst all the boring brown ones.

The ski pads really smooth out the recoil to the extent that you can spot the shot hitting the stop butt.

I only used the SincInt at 100m on a concrete BR table. So the ski feet act as a damper as well? This makes the concept of building our own even more interesting if you can control the muzzle hop and recoil to the degree that you can see the sand splash.

I bought a Sinclair for my 308 and have found it to be excellent, very stable and like Ovenpaa states it stays on target.

If you want a simple and very sturdy bi-pod, the Fito Big Foot is excellent. Cost £130 from Osprey rifles.
