Mosin Nagant 91/30 with Laminated stock

Latest acquisition 1941 Mosin Nagant 91/30 matching with later laminated stock "Not sure if I like it better or not jury still out" I love the way they try to get the heel insert to match. Has been back bored barrel approx 1in and has a DIY turned down bolt, but I have the original.
All in all very nice condition and shoots really well, although this is probably not one for collectors !

The laminated stocks were made post Second World kerfuffle by the Sovs copying German practice. Your stock would have been fitted during one of the many rounds of refurbishment that these rifles were subjected to up to the early seventies. Laminated stocks were less likely to warp (I think). Arctic birch stocks can look very nice but the laminated ones would have been made up of hundreds of thin strips of various types of wood.
While all marking I would call it all ‘refurb’matching unless every serial number has the same cyrillic letters and font on bolt, magazine base, receiver and butt plate.
This rifle would have come out of one of the many storage facilities in .
Often wondered if post current ‘Special military operation’ the Ukes could generate income by dumping what they have left on the International market (WW2 gats that is). Our colonial cousins across the pond would have to change legislation though.

If the drilling and tapping match those used to mount a PU scope it could potentially be an "ex-sniper" that the Finns restocked.It was common practice for Russian snipers to remove and destroy their scopes if facing capture.The Finns didn't capture that many PU, or PEM, sniper rifles from the Russians....at least not officially as apparently the majority that were captured were squirrelled away by the captor to be used as a nice hunting rifle post-hostilities.

Any close up pics of the barrel shank markings?, is the turned down bolt definitely a diy job?.Counterboring is very common on Soviet refurbs.

I think there has been a mix up here My 1941 Mosin Nagant has a scalloped side, still early enough to have had this work ? before war required quicker manufacture, and has not been drilled for PU mount, Will post shank and Bolt pictures

Looks to be have been supplied from Germany proofs on the receiver, but a BNP proof on bolt.
