Our big lathe is for sale. This is a Harrison Alpha 400-T teach CNC lathe with true CAM (Computer aided manufacturing) capability.
What this means in simple terms is you can either use it as a fly by wire manual lathe with a resolution of 0.001mm and a typical accuracy of 0.005mm or 2/10th of a thou when run as a cut measure cut machine (Bloody accurate) Or it can be run as CNC, either using programs via the local panel, so internal and external thread cutting, or taper cutting, again internal and external plus a load of other things. Or, you can draw what is required to be machined in CAD, export as a DXF, convert on your PC to code and sent directly to the machine, then simply pop the material in, tell it the start position, shut the doors and off you go.
It is not difficult because we can do it and Christel often runs this machine.
This is the machine we make all of our cleaning rod guides/bore guides on, it is the one I use for screw cutting and barrel profiling and I have used it for chambering, tapping and drill cycles. I also use it for crowning to any profile.
The machine is £4,750.00 complete with three and four jaw D1-6 PB chucks, coolant and swarf bins, plus a range of tool holders, tools and inserts plus some tuition and can be seen running.
We also have.... A 5 year old micro adjust 5C collet system plus a large range of collets to suit this machine, plus a load of blanks and material, plus every single drawing of every single Shed guide and turned product we have made over the last few years,in CAD. These are the products we have produced successfully for many years and shipped to every continent around the world and more countries than I can remember, to both trade and private customers if anyone is interested. We were selling a lot of these until I damaged my eye and we decided to stop.
Time scale is in weeks, if anyone is interested :)

SOLD SOLD SOLD, everything is now spoken for including, it would appear, a new source of Shooting Shed stuff which is rather nice.

I'm not surprised, that lathe was priced well to begin with and on top of that you've basically included a business.
(reread it, and I mean it seriously, not having a snipe at you)

Thank you.
Well that is all of the machinery sold other than my heat treatment oven and I have no ideas on that. We have 50 guns leaving us next week and loads of packing boxes have arrived, it all seems rather strange and I am quite looking forward to seeing what comes next :)

Don’t be a stranger when you start on your next stage of your life, you will still have a wealth of knowledge in shooting that you can still help other shooters with.Ovenpaa wrote: ↑Mon Sep 12, 2022 6:59 pm Thank you.
