Need a gunsmith to make a flat firing pin and extractor
Do you guys have any recommendations for a gunsmith or toolmaker in the UK? I need a flat firing pin and extractor made, I do at least have samples to provide. These are for my R55 Thompson Center Benchmark rifles. The rifles are out of production and neither T/C nor S&W will provide spares to anybody, not even US residents. So the only remaining option is to have them manufactured.

Have you thought about having a go yourself. This looks to be not too difficult, just time consuming. A bit of flat sawblade or some such looks like it would do the trick.

Unfortunately I don't have the tools or the steel. The pieces have to be exactly the right thickness and they have to be properly hardened. I had three extractors and three pins made by a gunsmith a few years ago and all have since fractured because they were not properly hardened.

You don't need a gunsmith you just need a small engineering machining company. Have a look on the model engineering forum and ask for links to companies local to you that caters for model engineers.
