Can the recticle be changed on a Sightron S2 36x42?

#1 Post by Itskeith »

Hi Everyone:

Question if I may:
I have seen a scope for sale which is a Sightron SII 36x42 SFP BRD MOA Non IR Rifle Scope.

I’ve had lots of thumbs up for this scope by other users (for .22LR NSRA 25yd BR).

However the scope comes with a target.dot reticle (the only recticle type this scope is available with) and I much much prefer a FCH fine cross hair recticle.

Does anyone know:
- If the recticle type can be changed in this scope?
- who could do this for me and an approximate cost please?

Thank-you.

Have you spoken with Sightron about this?

If not surely they should be your first port of call.

Many thanks.

Have now done.

Looks like the main port of call is a US based service centre (can't find any info of a UK based one).

Let's see what the say and fingers crossed.

Not keen on sending the scope to the US though, so if anyone knows of a UK based person who could do this, I'd also be very interested in exploring that option also.

Cheers.

Paul Burke is the name which always pops up on various forums when this topic pops up. I've never used him personally though, but I would send it to sightron personally.

I can heartily recommend Mr Burke, if he is still working.

I would think it would hardly be cost effective.. I like Sightron scopes but with the S11 36x42 selling new for under £400, it might cost more that it's worth to get it converted. (If it were possible)

Thanks everyone.

1066: agreed not wanting to spend too much due to the cost of the of the scope.

.. but also reluctant to spend more on a scope at the moment.

If anyone can pm me the details of Paul Burke it would be much appreciated.

Cheers.
