I can see light at the end of this tunnel.

Getting them back is one thing, the weeks and months of worry and anguish in what was already a stressful period for you should at least be addressed by the FLD.

Good luck.

Good deals with Paul101, Charlotte the flyer, majordisorder, Charlie Muggins, among others. Thanks everybody.

Good you can recover them & get on with life etc......good luck with treatment & shooting!

But its a shame you cant actually sue them in court for damages etc as thats whats needed & to set a case precedent for others to use. The way this was done & is looking like it will be resolved, is all off record & non binding 'gentlemen's' agreements. Good for yourself, but useless for anyone else.

For everyone else's benefit - I reiterate?

* If you are an FAC holder you need to have legal cover (NRA, NSRA etc but not BASC).
* Club insurance does not cover you for anything other than other parties whilst shooting at the club.
* Have a contingency plan in place -An RFD on hand, in your phone contacts, with pre agreement to come get them or receive them if needed.
* Never surrender firearms, always refuse & tell them they need to rescind & answer for that in court & that you have legal insurance, they will think twice about it then.
* If you think they are going to be sized reduce them to action, barrel & bolt, ammo, nothing else needs to be handed in but for primers.
* Photograph them, oil inside & out, wrap & put in a box / case to be taken away in.
* Make them count the ammo & primers! & if they want to take cases etc insist on them being counted! each & every one!
* Get a receipt that quotes the case, letter, time-date & police officer ID.
* Have a copy of your FAC in email or in your phone etc to record & access anywhere.
* Record the event on ur phone sound & vision if possible.

They dont insure shooters for legal cover like refusal to renew, or rescinding FAC etc.
