Anyone identify this vintage BSA air rifle?
This was given to me by the widow of a friend who died recently. He was 80 and the rifle belonged to his father so it's quite a few years old.

Looks a bit like an Airsporter but I'm not an expert on older BSAs.

Looks to be a Mk.6 Airsporter.

A MK 6 would be GK or GL. This one is GI.

Nice collection! This one has a serial number starting with GI which makes it a MK4 from around 1970.
When I operated the cocking lever the pin that connects it to the piston fell out. I presume it should be a tight press fit in the cocking lever?

I can't remember off hand but I guess the pin is a push fit and staked in with a couple of punch marks - and easy fix what ever way it's done.
