Re: 6.5cm ban?
Today I received an Email from Landmarc/MOD.
6.5CM ammo can only be fired on 2 ranges in the catterick range complex.
If 6.5CM is to be fired on the range it must be specifically listed when bidding for one of the 2 ranges.

Which ranges are allowed it?
We are on Peat Fell tomorrow and have just been informed it cannot be used with immediate effect.

Re: 6.5cm ban?
Only 2 ranges are SARTS ranges.
6A Cow Park
6D Moor End.
Both of these rabges are located within Wathgill camp & therein brings up another problem. That of access.
If either of these ranges are booked then, I understand, Landmarc / MOD require the names of club members who will be attending the shoot. ID required.
All a bit of a pain.

Re: 6.5cm ban?
6D Moor end is a electronic range not normally used by Civilian Clubs so in reality the only range available to shoot the 6.5 Creedmoor is 6A Cow Park. So obviously its going to be in great demand going forward.
As the 6.5 Creedmoor is the only full bore rifle I shoot now a days thats probably my shooting days over. If there is no change I guess I will have trouble selling it.

Re: 6.5cm ban?
There's plenty of people shooting Deer with 6.5 Creedmore so hopefully there will still be some market for them, even if a little more limited and over packed than usual.Alpha1 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 04, 2024 11:07 pm 6D Moor end is a electronic range not normally used by Civilian Clubs so in reality the only range available to shoot the 6.5 Creedmoor is 6A Cow Park. Re: 6.5cm ban?
Cannot see this being a long term issue with the RM’s kitting out with Creedmoor. Sounds a likely case DIO having a chat with various people and ticking the proverbial box. Although would be interesting to observe a whole Commando shouting ‘bang’ on a range …..
