Another new pistol

Re: Another new pistol
Coincidentally, I had my two revolvers out today for an inspection and oiling. I managed to keep the Webley but lost my others. The Colt, in .455, I got from a friend who retired to Cyprus. I just wish I could take them to the range.

Sorry but don`t you know that in 1996 all UK pistol shooters had there property stolen by the Government, these posts are just rubbing salt into the wound.

YES!! Please continue.
We like the information and detail.
It also reminds me to never forget what they did to us!

Because the politicians here kicked up about it, at a time that the government was looking them to work with them.Mauserbill wrote: ↑Sun Feb 02, 2025 12:08 amWhy was that, I forgot ?ordnance wrote: ↑Fri Jan 31, 2025 9:43 pmNot all of the UK, more up to date I bought one of these a while back in the UK.Mauserbill wrote: ↑Sat Jan 25, 2025 11:36 am Hello

Re: Another new pistol
1066, that's the one......I bought mine new around that time, possibly from the NSRA, when they had a place on the south side of the Thames in London. I'm pretty sure I paid around £35 for mine, though.
In the box, all the metal parts were wrapped in grease impregnated brown paper, a bugger to get off, so I took them to work and put them in the vapour degreaser.
Mine came with 2 mags, a bag of springs, barrel weights, oil can, and various spare screws etc. and it proved to be very accurate.
I cut the magazine follower so that the slide would stay back after the last round was fired, and carved a walnut grip for it.
I had a lot of fun with that pistol...I was amazed to discover that the designer, Margolin, was actually blind!!

Re: Another new pistol
you could, as both are sec 7.1, not hard to make the jump to 7.3, you just wouldn't be able to take them home again after they get to the range!PeterN wrote: ↑Tue Jan 28, 2025 10:12 pm Coincidentally, I had my two revolvers out today for an inspection and oiling. Beautiful! I don't know why more mainland shooters don't at least visit NI (I'm actively looking to move there), it's relatively easy to get to and of course the handgun options are vastly superior... NITS (NITSA) is an incredible set up too - friendly people, decent variety of club owned handguns, good number of lanes/ranges etc.ordnance wrote: ↑Fri Jan 31, 2025 9:43 pmNot all of the UK, more up to date I bought one of these a while back in the UK.Mauserbill wrote: ↑Sat Jan 25, 2025 11:36 am Hello
