Hi From Ipswich

#1 Post by Harrier1980 »

Hi,

I have just joined the forum. I am a long time shooter of .22 air rfles, mainly in the garden etc. but have always been interested in 'more'.

I recently went to Florida on holiday, and organised a morning on a range through Top Gun Tours, which has really sparked my interest in 'more'. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and was very surprised how un restricted shooting is there.

I am now looking to find somewhere nearby where I can go through the process with an aim to shooting full bore, so any advice appreciated.

cheers,

Richard

Welcome to the F-B(UK) Forum Richard. You need to find a club to join and start your probationary period as quickly as possible so you can find out exactly which shooting disciplines you like.

Meanwhile have a read and ask all the questions you can think of :good:

'ello Richard,

Welcome and do join in, we are a nice bunch of people on here, really :D

Ipswich, isn't that over there somewhere, to the middle right on the map, must be Grove Small Arms or BRPC territory?
If I am wrong please correct me someone!

Hi and hello.

I work in Ipswich and my club shoots in Essex, we use the MoD ranges in Colchester for full-bore work. You can always shoot with us.

The club house is based in a little village outside Braintree, but we shoot everything and ANYTHING :good: all over Essex.

Richard,

Welcome, there is also a club at Harlow in Essex; not a million miles from you.

They, like almost all the clubs you will encounter, are lovely, friendly people.

I don't know a shooter who isn't keen to help a 'newbie'

Thanks for all your welcomes.

I have looked a Grove Small Arms previously, but not BRPC, so I will have a look for them.

I have also looked at Colchester rifle club, does anyone know them?

Tower.75, what is your clubs name?

I am currently in the process of joining Hadleigh Rifle club (in suffolk, not the one in Essex) for somewhere local to safely shoot my air stuff, they also have a 25m .22 range which I hope to get on when I get a chance, but will be looking for full bore very soon, as I hope to apply for an FAC when my SC is due next year.

The Hertfordshire & Essex Shooting Association Ltd. If you want the full title, :good: , but we're known just as The Herts and Essex.

There's a few members on here.

Just ask if you have any questions.
