Bayonet and sling for a 1941 Lithgow SMLE
Have just recently acquired a 1941 Lithgow SMLE to shoot. To finish it off I would like a relevant bayonet and sling.
Haven't seen too many Lithgow versions of either, well none in fact. I know that Orange in Australia produced bayonets for WWII Lithgows
but not too many over here it would appear. Any sling dated 1941 would be nice. I've tried lots of places but as yet nothing particularly matching.
Any ideas guys?
Thanks

You are after the canvas version? I think I have an early 40's one stashed away, I would need to check though.

Welcome to the forum
One place you may find a bayonet is JC Militaria, here in the UK, they have a web site over 30 pages of bayonets of every type. I have bought from them very good range, and very good service. If not search e-bay you never know....

I've checked them, plus countless others. They have two Lithgow ones but I think they are somewhat expensive £225 and £375 . Tad more than I
am prepared to pay.

Hi Bogart.
Where are you based as there is an Antique arms fair on at Bisley this Sunday....
JC ones are priced such because of the condition....

Bit far top travel really on the off chance of picking one up. Also the JC one judging by the pics look nothing special. Thanks anyway
