I prefer wood and steel but I have to admit I have detoured towards some black arms:
The A2 was the high speed rifle when I was on active duty. My son who was an infantry sergeant in Iraq says the A2 is as unwieldy as a civil war musket but it feels most like a real rifle to me of the AR types. I swore I would never get back into ARs but when my buddies all got their flat top ARs I decided to get one but in the A2 configuration for nostalgia sake.
Saiga .223; my way of thumbing my nose at the state which positively hates AK type rifles but since it doesn't have an evil pistol grip it is legal.
This has some black nylon on it, does it qualify as a black rifle, err carbine?

sold my sgc m4 variant when my club put a ban on HV 22 it run like a dog on subs.......
