How do!

#1 Post by Michael Sproul »

Hello all!

I've been abusing you're search function for the last month trying to build up a bit of knowledge about this shooting malarky so thought it high time I joined up, said hello and also a big thankyou!

So cheers!!

A bit about me,

Learnt to shoot in the TA and fell in love with it, done a fair few competitions over the years and getting my own FAC/rifles was always something I wanted to do but it always seemed to get put on the back burner, normal life getting in the way!

Fast forward to last month and an old work mate mentioned he was selling an Air Arms S410, great I'll have it! It was just the little push I needed. So, I've joined the local shooting club and if all goes well they'll accept me after my probation period and I'll be on my way!

Hoping to learn a lot, have some fun and hopefully hit a few targets along the way....

Currently gravitating toward F/TR and old school .303 stuff but who knows what the future holds!

Ramble over

Cheers, Mike!

No such thing as a stupid question...have a look at Safe Shooting...

Never know...there may be something useful in there.

Thanks for the welcome all :D

Ya, I'll be staying, the main reason I joined apart from the obvious wealth of knowledge was the friendly banter between members I'd read on other threads!

Welcome to F-B(UK) Mike, F/TR with a .308 plus a .303 for special days makes a good combination that will set you up nicely for many years as long as you resist the voices telling you to buy more. :?

Next thing is what else do you need to know that you have not found on the forum, ask away please as it set's the old ones thinking and helps future new shooters.

Cheers again all, just got back in from a couple of hours shooting .22LR and an underlever .38, it was cool shooting something different and I reckon I'm getting used to not having a pistol grip and these uber light triggers now, not sure I'll ever get used to paying for my own ammunition tho :P

Mike, a very warm welcome to you.

Ah, the joys of paying for your ammo after years of drawing it from the magazine, lots of us in that position.

Then someone will say the words "Why don't you reload?" then all pocket money gone on kit.

You will get sucked in

Enjoy.
