Its just the 180's in the 308 that failed (twice!). Like I said, I am going to try to get some confidence in the rifle with the 165's, then I'll give the 18's another try. Its no good shooting anything less than a 180gn in the 308 really, as the 7mm throws 140-160's well enough

I assume you mean expanding ammunition as I have got on well with the 155 Scenar's

I'm a big fan of Hornady Dan. The 100gn RNSP is a reliable, effective, roe dropper in the 243. Its just the 180's in the 308 that failed (twice!). I have some 165gn Interlocks you could try if you haven't already bought a box. 180's or Interbonds wouldn't be my choice for British deer. ATB

Yes, expanding.

I want to throw heavier bullets (165-180gn) in the 308 really. I have a 22-250 for 38-55gn, 243 for 65-100gn and 7x57 for 100-160gn. If I can get a decent 165 and 180gn load for the 308 I will be pretty well sorted for all UK quarry.
That said, I still fancy a Calhoon .19/223 and perhaps a 350 RemMag
