Hi

#1 Post by MrD »

Hi folks

Have been a keen collector of militaria for 15 years and decided to try the real thing. Went along to local club in August and found I enjoyed target and F-Class too.

My FAC should be here any day and have got a 1915 No1 MkIII, a No4 Trials and a Ruger Old Army sitting waiting collection in a local dealer. Also got a Martini-Henry MkIV to transfer from 'Obsolete Calibre.'

Looking forward to picking lots of brains on here, especially about the MH and the Ruger

Hi and welcome.

Excellent choices BTW. :good: :good:

If you shoot MHs then you already know more then me. Always wanted to shoot and reload for one, but wouldn't have a clue where to start, only been reloading .303 for less then a year.

You'll fit in fine here

G'day Donald,

Which club are you with? I'm about 30 - 45 min from you, but I shoot with Strathpeffer RPC at Cawdor and their range at Millnain.

Hiya

I'm a member of Cawdor R&GC. Met some members from Strathpeffer on odd days at Cawdor, so maybe our paths have crossed. Pistol days are very limited at Cawdor, so willl be looking around for other places to use my Ruger. Had a look at your club's web page and will be getting in touch before your programme starts.

Will do.... especially the No4 Trials.....found it lurking and listed as a 'normal' No4. Didn't have a lot of time between viewing and making an offer so I just hope everything matches. Once I have it in my hands I'll need to do some more research, but it appears to be from the batch made for manufacturers trials rather than troop trials.
