For train enthusiasts

#1 Post by rufrdr »

The Tehachapi loop; a train does a couple loops on the way up around the hll. It looks like a model train display down in the valley where it starts to loop. The observer can hear the train coming for quite a way before it comes into view. This is about an hour and a half from my home. Some friends and I took a run over to see for ourselves and it is as impressive as I had heard. The train come thundering by and goes right into a tunnel at the point we were standing.

Rufrdr.....thanks for the great pictures....I was in Tehachapi a few years ago whilst touring California....loved the place. I thought it looked like the perfect spot to live to be honest.

Had lunch in the Apple Barn (I think), I would have liked to stay longer but had to move on as I had a hotel booking elsewhere for the night.

If it is OK woth you I will download your pictures for my California album... :goodjob: :goodjob:
