Hello,
I am trying to find out a bit more about a scope that I brought and have spent hours trawling the web in the blind hope that I come up trumps-no luck so far!
I am in the process of mounting it onto a CE1944 K98
Written on the scope is;
Hensoldt-Wetzlar Dural-Dialytan 4x 25584
It also has 'Made in Germany' on the turret base
If anyone could shed any light on the history of this it would be much appreciated.
Help-can someone help me date my scope?

Salut,
Do you have a photo pls ?
Hensoldt-Wetzlar made the Dialytan Mdl both before and after the war. Can you tell us were is the serial # is located pls ? if it is positioned in from of the elevation knobs, I am absolutly no specialist but I suspect it was made in the 50's ??

Hello Froggy,
I will try and post a photo when I get a moment. The serial # is on the horizontal centre line of the tube and just slightly behind the elevation turret. My thought was that the scope was a 50's model but this was more of a guess than an educated theory. smile2

Thanks Meaty . The pre-war one I have seen has the name on the knob and the serial # on the turet not on the tube. But again, I am not expert & if it was offered to me with no chance to do further research I would treat it , maybe wrongly, as a postwar piece.
