scope advice

#1 Post by AL8 »

I have jsut started using a Schmidt Rubin K31 at longer ranges (600yards), and was thinking of putting a scope on it using a clamp on mount. What sort of scope wouold be suitable, I only have a small budget (£100-£150). Or has someone got a clamp on mount and scope for sale?
Thanks

I use a 6x45 Pecar on mine - it cost £120 (second paw of course) and mount it with one of Andy Allwood's mounts. I find it fine for 300 and 600 m. Another option would be a side mounting 8x42 POSP if most of your shooting is at 600m. They have an excellent reticule, amazing glass for the price and are rugged as anything - I think they are made by sticking a lens in either end of an old T55 tank gun barrel.
