It does not photograph very well but the finished item looks good, I need to trim the neoprene after the adhesive has had a few hours to really dry.

Don't it feel good to make something like that?

Good job!

I am lucky I can use my hands, and have the space and sufficient tools to undertake little projects like this. Every time I do something like this I think about my Father and ask myself what would he think? (He is not well enough to come down here these days so I will mail him and Mum a picture when it is done and fitted) If he is happy with my standard of work then I have done a good job.

The Viking wants an adjustable cheek pad on her rifle now, so that will have to be looked at some point soon, that will be a very different type of pad with a bit more of a bling touch to it, get that right with the look I have planned and I will feel good.

So far looks great. I am interested to see that you have cut fitting slots in both sides. Are you planning on running a bolt through the stock?

Looking forward to seeing it in situ,

I drilled two holes through the chassis which is approximately 25mmx30mm section, due to the mass of material it should not impact the strength in any way, the stock sides are drilled with 7mm dia holes in them so I can push two mushroom head bolts through with star knobs on the off side of the stock. I will spray the heads of the bolts black and to match everything else.

Sum cost of the project will be around a fiver for the two star knobs similar to below, everything else came out of the shed.

The finished and fitted item, boing's indoors are not the best of cameras but you should get the idea. The pictures really do not do it justice and I am very pleased with the results.

Apply for patent...sell to AI...retire to Channel Islands...get handguns and slrs...buy Citation...visit mainland on a whim...have more fun.

Well, may be a new bike.

Well if nothing else it kept me off the streets and was fun to build, it also saved me 135 quid on the proper job. I have two AI's in the cabinet, one with a factory cheek pad and my version and I much prefer mine :D
