Jenks yer right, eating out all the time did my waist no good at all. I piled on the pounds in no time, they have never heard of small portions....then again I DID ask for the 20oz ribeye a few times at the Texas Roadhouse. (Burrrrrrp).

Yes. well...moving on..

The pictures taken with me wearing a polar jacked and two shirts underneath are on an AR course, and yes it was FREEZING and we had hailstones that second day....certainly colder than Scotland/ East Kilbusby area......Days before it was around 89F, that weekend the temp dropped like a stone....and it snowed in Tucson and on the high ground round about us, very scenic. It was one of the coldest days I had ever known....The course was quite dynamic with lots of up/down/prone/kneel etc all against the clock.. Walked like Robocop for 4 days afterwards...my knees looked like had set about them with a cheese grater.

There was a good mix on the AR course, the big bloke with the blue jacket and FAL was a US Marshall... I've met him a few times on other courses, he's seriously FAST on the draw. They are all a friendly bunch for sure.

The rifle I am using is a semi auto Sig 556, (5.56 NATO chambering) fitted with an M2 Aimpoint and a diopter iron sight a la HK MP5 etc The Sig takes standard 30 round
steel AR mags and I added two 30 round polymer Magpul mags ($19 each) and a Bladetech double mag holder for good measure - bought locally from Dillon reloading. It also came with an original bayonet........I was using Federal 55grn FMJ ammo. 1000 rounds no stoppages.

The "yellow shirt" pics were in the desert durintg a training session we ran for some of my mates neighbours....the big bloke is a US Marine, he carrries a .40SW. The lass is a nurse, her carry weapon is a 1911 Kimber in .45ACP.

We arrived about 6am (yes early morning), my mate was there at 5 am to claim a space!! We wrapped up at 1pm as temp was nudgng 95F. Nighs it was a subtle 80+F..MMMMMMMMMMMM

On the rock face you can see some orange clays that were used for rifle shooting....I placed a cardboard IPSC target in the rocks (you might see it in the first "rocky place" picture -oh look we have a competition LOL), it was very hard to spot without a scope but great for seeing what it must be like for our troops up against ragheads...To make it authentic we had Apache helicopters overhead...they are built locally and overfly the desert and surrounding roads on test runs.

Also got some video of me doing a timed warm up from low ready and various carry positions on the Sig, also a deliberate error :lol: and recovery for good measure ( ) not sure how I can get it on here though...about 350MB...I want to edit out the idiot who spoke over it half way through first.

The desert areas will be closed soon for about three months due to heat and fire hazard. As before, it would be cool if we could get an FB squad over to do some stuff....even a weekend zombie or tactical practice - ideally need six but would do a weekend course for two folks upwards.....No need to be agile.

Definitely a friendly place for sure.
