Another Newbie
Recently back into rifle shooting after too many years off.
Currently owning a Remmy 700 SPS Varmint with AISC stock. Also have a S&W M&P15-22 for a little plinking fun.
Variation gone in for a .303; any advice on which Enfield to go for much appreciated.

Good Evening Lucror and welcome to the forum.

Which .303? Well I will jump in now and say an SMLE, something like a No1 Mk3* for nostalgia or a P14 for accuracy, I suppose you could go for one of those new fangled No4 things but I doubt they will ever catch on

A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools!!

OK, No.1 MK3. Yeah, I think nostalgia is the driver for this purchase. What about a jungle carbine for something different perhaps?ovenpaa wrote:Welcome to FB Lucror

If you haven't shot a Jungle I would before you buy one! They're a bit more punchy on recoil than the standard riflesLucror wrote:OK, No.1 MK3. Yeah, I think nostalgia is the driver for this purchase. What about a jungle carbine for something different perhaps?ovenpaa wrote:Welcome to FB Lucror

I agree the carbines can be a tad spiteful to shoot.

The No. 5 Mk I is certainly a rifle you have go to try if only to make a mental tick in the box. The P14 is *the* rifle for accuracy versus cost trade off and they are fun to shoot as well.
