It was quite safe for me, I was holding the jigsaw, the Viking however was holding the stock...

It had to be done, we had specified a Tubb 4 way on the back and it left the LoP a bit long so shortened it to suit. It is fair to say it took some deliberation, measuring and marking before I made the cut and I used the jigsaw as there was less chance of the blade jumping and it did a very neat job

The Tubb 4 way is a really nice piece of engineering I have fitted one to the microfit stock that now carries my Parker Hale.

I like them as well but Christel wants me to remove it and fit an ebony pad instead, I have been sitting on the wood for ages and really should get it fitted.

Wishing to make an "add on" adjustable cheek piece to my Norman Clark stock I took it around to my local cabinet maker who didn't flinch when I told him that a replacement would cost a grand. He did a great job on his band saw, even changing the band for a fine one!

I made the cheek piece for my AccInt out of a piece of 1/8" aluminium sheet formed around a perfectly sized piece of English Oak round which went on to be a handle on one of reloading pressed. In fact I was cringing doing the job as it was English Oak and hard to come by.

I built a riser screw for the cheek piece of Christels S&L as well, that was fun as it involved drilling opposing holes accurately, a short length of aluminium round pointed in the lathe worked well.

Next job when I get a moment is pillar and glass bed a rifle that is approaching 100 years old. Hehehehe!

EDIT - I assume you are into model engineering with spare hex brass like that?
