I just looked them up, are they made from blued steel or anodised light metal?

Anodised aluminium with brass grub screws to hold it in place it has a top hat fitting that goes underneath the mount it slides in the the rails that hold the original sight. A grub screw goes through the mount into the top hat fitting to hold everything rigid they are a really nice job. The scope is rock steady once the mount is fitted . You are right it would not be rght to copy darrels work. I was tempted though. :lol:
The top hat attachment is similar to these pics all though darrels mount is far superior to the one shown here.

Something similar made of nice blued steel would be pretty desirable...

I have to disagree the Darrel mount does not need any improvement it is the best on the market that is why they are so sought after.

Badger, I am happy to make you something to suit however I do need a rifle to work with or at least a MN rear sight bracket, are they just pinned on like others?
