The rail was £400, the stock £250, the KX3 £175, the battle sights £240 etc.. etc... it soon adds up to about 2K.

Sorry BaconButty, I didn't mean to hijack your thread. So what scope or sights are you throwing on that flat top?

Never heard of a Spikes before. It looks like any other black imitation military rifle made from recycled wellington boots to me----and the cost!--- better to learn how to shoot and use something sensible with the sighting plane nearer to the bore so that the slightest tilt doesn't throw you off target.

You will be!
No its fine, all in the name of good AR fun!
I've got a Knights Armament rail (which may or may not fit) an ACOG clone for minirifle and 25m target rifle (read: plinking). Looking at getting some MBUS sights but actually liking the look of your Troys. Most of the stock, pistol grips etc will be tarted up with Magpul. Probably a BAD lever and AFG2 as well.
How are you liking the CCI tactical? Everyone and his dog near here uses CCI minimag so I was going to go for that, but Wayne winced when I suggested such action
.

That's the nice thing about this platform, you can tinker as long as the wallet lets you! Will your gas block sit inside the rail or just in front of it? BTW - What's the problem with fitting the rail?
CCI tactical have been absolutely flawless with the blackdog mags. I think I've shot about 700 since I've had it and whilst I haven't had one failure to load or extract, I had one round fail to go off and it wasn't due to a light strike, so no fault of the rifle. So I would still say they're excellent.
I have to say I'm quite taken with the troys, I haven't seen the MBUS's in the flesh, so I don't really have an opinion. Have you shot your rifle yet?

Well to be honest I wanted an A post front sight instead of the gas block. I really like the look, but all Wayne had in was the gas blocks, and I'm too impatient
. The block will be in front of the rail but I may get a RIS post for it.
The front lips of the upper rail don't seem to fit inside the hand guard ring, meaning it doesn't push down into the delta ring either. It should fit though as the lower rail half fits in fine.
Not shot mine yet, I picked the rifle up yesterday but can't get to the club until Thursday.. Can't wait!

I'm sure you could pick up a replacement handguard ring if needed. It should look good when you're done, I expect more pics to follow after you've had your evil way with it!
Don't be shy, I expect you to empty at least one mag as quickly as possible on Thursday!
