A few seconds work to cut through the side with a battery grinder - no other guests in during the day to hear it either. Hotel room doors are usually incredibly easy to open as well.

So no different to your average house burglary then? If the gun was secured in a box at the hotel then I can’t see how you failed to take reasonable steps to secure it. The particular guest house I named has an always locked external door, along with CCTV. So that’s 2 locked doors and CCTV……. Got to be safer than leaving it overnight in the car.
