You may want to hold on and save up just a little bit more as one of the UK AR players is looking to bring out something that might float your boat in the near future.

I would consider a Lantac'd CMMG as it almost a Raven at half the price. Saying that I would not part with my Raven as it sits top equal with My Marlin lever action.

Don't forget the Ruger SR22 if funds are tight as the aftermarket stock options are interesting if you want to try something different later on.

A combination of a recognised robust .22 LR AR married to a UK sourced upper/lower not quite to Milspec in terms of material specification (but still aluminium) aimed directly at the UK market at a sub £1000 price. Apparently a proto-type is going through its paces.
Not sure when a commercial release would happen but got the impression by end of this year.
Sorry to be vague but the info given to me was a bit sketchy and probably is best to treat with a little bit of caution although the impression was that it was definitely on the cards direct from the guy doing it.

I have a CMMG which I bought second hand, it was originally supplied by Lantac.
I'm pleased with it so far. As the CMMG has a factory barrel I'm Ssure it won't match the Raven for paper punching accuracy, but I bought it for action shoots / mini rifle, so I'm not worried.

Obviously the CMMG doesn't come with all the really nice tactical bling on the Raven but most of that you can live without - or buy it later :lol

Nothing wrong in that as you have the best compromise in price against reliability, especially if it was secondhand.

What sights do you have on it?

l managed to get a Burris AR332 out of Germany and am very pleased with it, albeit expensive.

I don't think it was the "first" - I'm pretty sure that the BAR22 was available before the S & W was released in the UK. The V22 (from SGC) has been around for a lot more than 5 years too.

I looked around before I bought my BAR22 and the other options were Spikes or the V22, no Sig and no S & W. I've not seen a Raven, but I have also got a CMMG and whilst it's good, I'd stick with my BAR22 every time.

I'm new to the site but I will also throw in a vote for the 15-22.

The rifle is highly accurate and can be tuned and setup to match exactly what you want.

It might be a high price in your area ( I'm in the U.S.) but I traded a 1911 .45 (Local pawn shop) for mine and haven't regretted it once.

Loads of fun out of the box and highly practical.
