Shooting SHED announces the Steinert Sensing SuperChrono

#1 Post by ovenpaa »

The Shooting SHED is pleased to announce it has signed a UK Distributor agreement with Steinert Sensing and will very shortly be stocking the SuperChrono, the very latest in chronograph technology.

The SuperChrono is the world's first commercially available acoustical shooting chronograph. After 30 years of optical chronographs, Steinert Sensing Systems finally delivers a new technology that gives you reliable shot readings in any lighting conditions.

No more worries about sunlight orientation, uneven cloud cover, rain, snow, shadows, reflections from snow or water on the ground, low or indoor lighting, shiny projectiles, shadows or any other changes in light intensity that cause problems with optical sensors.

Every shot is detected as long as the bullet is supersonic.

Set-up is a breeze. Aim the SuperChrono at the target, turn it on, shoot over it and you get a reading with up to 99.5% accuracy.

SuperChrono has a sensing area up to 300 times larger than conventional optical systems so you can place SuperChrono down range at the target to measure impact velocities and from this actual actual BC's

Best of all there are no cables or screens or setup to worry about, no worries about less than ideal light (This will even work in the dark) and it will easily fit in the average range bag or even in your shooting jacket pocket (well it fit's in mine!)

Price including delivery within the UK is GBP274.95 with a free Shooting SHED beanie included! (Black or Beige)

So that means one is unlikely to blow a hole in it?

Good job Shooting Shed!

Hehe, if I can see it I can shoot it Mike, and that applies to Chronos as well however this one is bright yellow so is visible in the 'scope as a yellow blur even close up.

Dose it come with a Tri pod? Their home site gives the impression that it does.

The SuperChrono does not come with a tripod so we will be offering a low tripod as an option along with a nice little cordura bag to keep it safe and sound with space for a pencil, paper and spare batteries despite it having a very good battery life.

An update on the SuperChrono, we have placed an additional order even before the first lot has got to Customs to keep up with demand so it is selling well already. Keep an eye out for UK field test and reviews in the not too distant future, I will also include a 'missability' mini review in keeping with my reputation with Chronos....

I was very interested in this until I read that the claimed accuracy is “up to 99.5%”. This rules it out for my requirement, which is development of precision long-range loads for F Class.
At 3000 fps, this chrono will produce readings with a measurement error of 15fps, which is greater than the ES and SD figures I am trying to achieve. So it’s a no from me I’m afraid.
